  • Next, explain what approaches organizations can take to motivate their employees other than pay incentives. Explain the main reasons that these other incentives may motivate employees, and justify your response.

Watch the video from Karl McDonnell, CEO of Strayer University, titled “How do you determine when Organizational Change is necessary, and how do you prepare for employee resistance?” Explain what causes conflict in the workplace, and propose how managers can work with employees to break down resistance to organizational change.

WK 8 Discussion

Watch the video from Karl McDonnell, CEO of Strayer University, “Which has a greater impact on performance: Job Satisfaction, or Grit?” Then give your opinion on how much design of work has an impact on job satisfaction. Choose whether you believe job satisfaction is an extrinsic or intrinsic feeling, and explain why. 

WK 9 Discussion

Watch the video below titled, “How Disney Develops Culture” (6:35). You can also view the video at http://vimeo.com/109015050. Disney University’s four (4) fundamentals are to innovate, support, educate and entertain. Briefly describe the type of organization in which you are currently employed or were last employed.  Explain and give two (2) examples how leaders sustain the culture in that organization, good or bad. Note: When incorporating information from the workplace, be sure to remove all identifying information such as the name of the organization, the names of individual affiliates, and sensitive or proprietary information.
